From Wickford Village to Narragansett Bay. Interior, exterior and historic millwork since 1999.
North Kingstown sits between Rhode Island's colonial past and its present, and the houses show it. From the preserved eighteenth-century houses in Wickford Village to the waterfront homes along Narragansett Bay in Saunderstown and Hamilton, this is a town where careful work is noticed. Senn Painting has worked here since 1999.
Wickford's historic harbor district has some of the best residential architecture in New England. These houses need painters who understand period-appropriate preparation, who can handle old-growth wood trim without damaging delicate profiles, and who choose finishes that respect the house while protecting it from the weather.
Beyond the village, the newer neighborhoods along Post Road, around Quonset and through the Annaquatucket corridor have their own needs. We handle everything from full interior repaints in family homes to new construction finishing for local builders, with clean work areas, detailed preparation and finishes that last.
North Kingstown homeowners who have worked with us know what to expect: a thorough walkthrough before we start, a detailed written scope of work, consistent communication, and a final walkthrough together. If you're considering a project in North Kingstown, we'd be glad to come and look.
Wickford's mature trees and tight lots mean north and east walls stay damp for days after rain. That grows mildew under the paint and lifts it from the bottom up. The fix is a proper wash and a mildew-resistant primer, not another coat over the top.
Some of the oldest continuously occupied houses in the country stand in this village. Original clapboard is thinner and softer than anything milled today, and aggressive sanding costs you material you cannot replace. We work by hand where it matters.
Pre-1978 houses are assumed to have lead paint until tested. Contained work areas, wet methods rather than dry sanding, HEPA collection and proper disposal, which matters more on a lot where the neighbor's vegetable garden is fifteen feet away.
Narrow streets, shared driveways and no room for a staging area. We plan access before the first day rather than discovering the problem with a truck already parked in it.
Every project includes a dedicated lead painter, a detailed written scope of work, and our written satisfaction guarantee.
Discuss Your ProjectSmooth, level walls, crisp trim lines and premium low-VOC coatings for walls, ceilings and trim.
Stripped, primed and sprayed in matte, satin or high gloss. A new kitchen finish without new cabinets, usually inside a week.
Hand-rubbed stains, multi-layer protection and careful restoration of millwork, doors, built-ins and fine woodwork.
Marine-grade coatings and thorough preparation for salt air, UV and winter moisture. Siding, trim, shutters and doors.
Spec-compliant finishes on a builder's schedule, plus glazing, accent features and custom details. Builders and architects: ask about working with us on your next project.
Roughly 85% of every project is preparation. The finish is the last few hours of work that took weeks to earn.
We visit your home, walk every surface, listen to what you want, and deliver a detailed proposal with scope and timeline.
We protect every surface, fill, sand, caulk and prime before a certified professional applies a single coat.
We walk the finished job with you and write down anything you want changed. We come back until that list is clear.

Senn Painting was founded in West Kingston, Rhode Island in 1999 by Mason Senn, on the belief that a paint job deserves the same precision and respect as any piece of fine work. Over 27 years, Mason has completed more than 200 projects across the coastal communities of southern Rhode Island.
What started as a one-man operation built on word-of-mouth referrals has grown into a team of trained finishers who hold to the same standard. Mason is still on site.

Mason and team at Senn painting are hands down the best of the best. Their professionalism, kindness, knowledge, and perfectionism Definitely shows. They did our kitchen and dining room, which had some stuff going on that they were able to simplify and fix. They also completely did a two bedroom house that we redid from the studs up. I highly recommend them to anyone that needs anything done. Like I said before they are the best of the best. Thank you for all you do and we hope to use you again in the future when we need our next project completed.
Brilliant work all around. The crews were on time, organized and extremely neat. Their attention to detail was exceptional. Most important there was a sense of pride in their work which made our home shine. Many thanks to the Senn Painting Company.
Senn Painting is one of the most professional companies I have ever come across. Their attention to detail is far superior to any other paint company. Their owner is onsite and diligent. I highly recommend Senn painting for anyone looking for a great periodicity with affordable pricing.
